Main theme of CAPE VI: Positioning African Petroleum for global development and value addition
CAPE VI, 6th African Petroleum Congress and Exhibition will take place from 15-17 March 2016 in Abuja – Federal Republic of Nigeria. The event will feature a three day conference, and associated trade exhibition.
The event will be organised by the African Petroleum Producers Association (APPA), the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria and AME Trade Ltd, UK.
CAPE VI will include delegations of the highest rank, from the eighteen petroleum producing members of APPA namely: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Congo DRC, Cote D’Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Libya, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan and Tchad.
CAPE VI: An established event with a guaranteed attendance of the highest level
CAPE is established as the largest and the most influential oil and gas event in Africa. Previous editions have been organised since 2003, CAPE I in Tripoli, Libya, CAPE II, 2005 in Algiers (Algeria) and CAPE III, 2007 in Cotonou (Benin) and CAPE IV, 2010, in Kinshasa ( Democratic Republic of Congo), CAPE V (2013) in Libreville, Republic of Gabon.
CAPE V: A successful event attended by over 700 key oil and gas industry decision makers
CAPE V was organised in March 2013, Libreville, Republic of Gabon attracted 44 presentations, over 981 participants from 55 countries and over 30 strategic partners.
CAPE VI will be organised at the same time as the 33rd Ordinary Session of the APPA Council of Ministers meeting which is attended by the Ministers of APPA member countries. The event will also be organised concurrently with the Forum of Chief Executive Officers of African National Oil Companies.

Nigeria is the host country of CAPE VI and as they recently proved by successfully several world class events, including the World Economic Forum on Africa Nigeria is ready to welcome all participants to this event, with a warm welcome, a first class infrastructure and a smooth organisation. Nigeria is currently Africa’s leading Oil Producer and founding member of APPA, making it the perfect location for both new and established producers to benefit from the country’s considerable experience. Nigeria at the same time will showcase new potential opportunities in their offshore deepwater and ultra deepwater.
